The Fountain Pen Repair Workshop

workshop.jpg (23128 bytes)The success of pen collecting throughout the world has brought to light a fundamental problem - restoration. To attempt pen restoration without the necessary knowledge and tools is counterproductive and has led to many valuable pens being ruined.
Many collectors have become frustrated at there being only a handful of competent craftsmen in the UK with the knowledge and expertise to carry out the delicate work needed to restore a writing instrument to its original condition and thereby optimise its value. Furthermore, the cost of such work is extremely high.
Arthur Twydle now invites pen enthusiasts to visit his pen museum and workshop to learn the art of pen repair. Students will also be encouraged to carry out their own restoration work under his instruction and supervision, using the facilities of the workshop with all the tools, equipment, service manuals and spare parts.
The One-Day Workshop covers tuition in basic repairs, pen history, identification, valuation and access to Arthur's library, in fact anything the enthusiast is interested in learning.
The charge for this service is £100 for a six-hour day.
Included in the price are the two pen repair videos described on another page of this site, and a few indispensable tools unobtainable elsewhere. It will also be possible to buy any spare parts needed AT COST from Arthur's extensive stocks.
If you are interested in this proposition we should add that Arthur only works with one student at a time, so we recommend you contact us well in advance to arrange a mutually convenient date. Please e-mail us at:
