Norman Rockwell Plate

This fine porcelain plate was produced in 1988 to commemorate the Parker Pen Company's 100th anniversary, exclusively for the employees of Parker Pen USA Ltd. The inscription on the back reads "In 1959, Kenneth S. Parker of The Parker Pen Company commissioned artist Norman Rockwell to capture an elusive element in human experience - that flashing, timeless instant when the spirit soars to the first realisation of a fine gift given or received." Less than 500 of these were produced.

"The Parker fountain pen advertising was tremendously effective during the 1890s and early 1900s, with subjects ranging from political to seasonal....A number of the original advertisements have now been skillfully restored and reproduced for the Parker 1996 Heritage Diary."
